TechLearn Resources does not require you to create an account or log in. The only personal information we collect is what you voluntarily provide:

• Email address: if you subscribe to the TechLearn Digest newsletter using the signup form on the site. This is entirely optional.
• Contact form submissions: if you use the "Suggest a resource or report an issue" form, we receive any information you include in your message.

1.2 Analytics Data (Automatically Collected)

When you visit TechLearn Resources, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) automatically collects anonymous usage data, including:

• Pages visited and time spent on the site
• Search terms used within the site's course search
• Buttons and links clicked (including "View Course" clicks)
• Device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
• Country or region (not precise location)
• Referral source (how you arrived at the site)

This data is aggregated and anonymous. It does not identify you personally.

1.3 Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect payment information (the site is free)
• We do not collect passwords (no accounts exist)
• We do not collect precise location data
• We do not collect or store the course content from linked platforms

We use the information we collect for the following purposes only:

• Newsletter delivery: your email address is used solely to send the TechLearn Digest newsletter. We do not use it for any other purpose.
• Site improvement: analytics data helps us understand which categories and platforms are most useful, fix broken links, and prioritize new content.
• Resource curation: contact form submissions may inform which new courses or platforms we add to the directory.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

TechLearn Resources uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy that governs their data practices.

TechLearn Resources is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may collect server logs, IP addresses, and form submission data as part of normal hosting operations.

The platforms listed in our directory (YouTube, Khan Academy, freeCodeCamp, IBM SkillsBuild, LearnFree, edX, MIT OpenCourseWare, AWS Skill Builder, Microsoft Learn, Saylor Academy, and others) have their own privacy policies that apply when you visit them. We are not responsible for their data practices.

TechLearn Resources uses cookies set by Google Analytics 4 to track anonymous usage patterns. These cookies typically include:

• _ga — distinguishes unique users (expires after 2 years)
• _ga_[ID] — maintains session state (expires after 2 years)

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any cookies that identify you personally.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

Every "View Course" link on TechLearn Resources opens an external website operated by a third party. When you click a link and visit that platform, you leave our site and their privacy policy applies.

We do not track your activity on external platforms and do not receive any data about your interactions there. We include rel="noopener noreferrer" on all external links as a security measure.

Unsubscribe from the newsletter

Every TechLearn Digest email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it removes you from all future mailings. You can also email us directly to request removal.

Opt out of Google Analytics

You can prevent GA4 from collecting data about your visit by:

• Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
• Using a browser with tracking protection enabled (Firefox, Brave)
• Enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings

Request data deletion

If you have subscribed to our newsletter and would like your email address removed from all systems (Mailchimp, Beehiiv), contact us at the address in Section 10 and we will process your request within 14 days.

California residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion. Contact us to exercise these rights.

EU/UK residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU or UK, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Our legal basis for processing newsletter email addresses is consent (you opted in). Contact us to exercise any GDPR rights.

TechLearn Resources is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted their email address through our newsletter form, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

We take reasonable measures to protect the information associated with our site:

• The site is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit)
• Netlify form submissions are transmitted securely
• Newsletter subscriber data is stored in Mailchimp and Beehiiv's secured infrastructure
• We do not store email addresses ourselves. They live in Mailchimp and Beehiiv's systems

No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by third-party services.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may notify newsletter subscribers directly. Continued use of TechLearn Resources after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

We recommend checking this page occasionally if you are a regular visitor.
